Vanguard rides passive wave to $4 trillion

Vanguard Group, a leading provider of index-tracking funds, has seen its assets under management pass the $4 trillion mark as investors continue to lose faith with traditional stock-pickers.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the group's assets hit $4.048 trillion at the end of January after a year in which it pulled in more new money than all of its competitors combined.
