Warburg Pincus backs $40m start-up

Warburg Pincus, the US private equity giant whose global funds have a combined firepower of nearly $8bn (€6.3bn), has backed a European pharmaceutical start-up for $40m.

The firm, Archimedes Pharma, will use Warburg Pincus' financial muscle to build a pan-European pharmaceutical group with its own sales and marketing operations.
