Wealthy bankers living in affluent areas of London have avoided the worst of the capital’s Covid-19 deaths, official figures show, even as the capital was hit with the highest mortality rate across the UK.

London boroughs including Richmond, Kensington and Chelsea, Hounslow and Islington — popular locations for senior financiers — are among the least affected by coronavirus infections and deaths, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics and Public Health England.
