Neil Woodford was hauled before senior executives at Kent County Council on Friday to answer questions about the sudden closure of the investment manager’s £3.7bn flagship fund earlier this month.

Woodford was quizzed by members of the council’s superannuation fund committee in a “behind closed doors meeting” at County Hall in Maidstone. It is understood the meeting lasted for more than an hour.
