Woodford takes ‘milestone’ stake in Lloyds

Renowned fund manager makes first foray into banking stocks for more than a decade, while at the same time ending a 15-year investment with GSK

Neil Woodford has invested more than £200 million in Lloyds Banking Group, the first significant investment the star fund manager has made in bank shares for more than a decade.

It comes with the UK government poised to sell off the last of its stake in Lloyds in the coming days.
