We’ve entered a period of almost seismic change in the workplace, where technological innovations and economic developments are posing some big questions for business and for employees alike.

It’s a particularly tough operating environment for banks, with low interest rates over a sustained period hitting profit margins. A demanding regulatory framework has meant that banks have had to invest huge sums in compliance and risk expertise — for one bank these specialists represented almost 10% of their workforce.
