World Online appoints new chief amid losses

The beleaguered internet service provider World Online has appointed James Kinsella, MSNBC.com chief executive, as chairman.

The appointment comes as the fledgling Dutch service provider said its losses in the first quarter of this year (€98m) were almost double that of the fourth quarter 1999 (€50.6m). Revenue was €40.5m, up 39% from the previous quarter.
