Worth a shot?

Expensive starts to look even more expensive during a recession. Particularly when it comes to sampling a bottle of 1770 cognac newly acquired by the The Lanesborough Hotel in London and retailing at £4,000 a shot.

So far the Lanesborough, based on Hyde Park Corner has sold two shots to unnamed buyers. Having spent a year sourcing the bottle, the hotel is confident of finding plenty more.
